NO. 16 /BILL NO. 6 <br /> PLACE Councilroom <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:05 a m. <br /> <br /> Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 16 and attached Bill No. 6, reports as follows: <br /> <br /> The purpose of Bill No 6 is to amend Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995 <br /> Edition), relating to Vehicles and Traffic by designating Ali`i Anela Street as a through street <br /> from Route 11 to Alaula Street. <br /> Communication No 16 is from Deputy Chief Engineer Jao Sumada, dated November 29, 2000, <br /> <br /> transmitting Bill No. 6 for the Council's renew and consideration. Mr. Sumach states the <br /> Volcano Community Association requested that Ali`i Anela Street be designated as a through <br /> street and that the State Highways Division has no objections to this proposal. <br /> At the request of Committee Chair Elarionoff, the Department of Public Works transmitted to the <br /> <br /> committee a letter from the Volcano Community Association requesting stop signs be removed <br /> from Ali`i Anela Street and placed on the Old Volcano Highway instead.
