RESOLUTION CHANGING TIME ELEMENT OF ONE (1) FACILITIES MAINTENANCE AND
SERVICE WORKER I 1/2T TO FULL TIME
~~'HEREAS, the Ho'olulu Complex includes the Aunty Sally Kaleohano's Luau Hale, .~fook-Chmen
Civic Audnonum, Butler Building, Edith Kanakaole Vlulu-Purpose Stadmm, Walter Victor Stadium (Pony
Field, Colt Feld and Little League), Dr Francis F C Wong Stadium, and the Hilo Drag Stnp, and
WHEREAS, the Hoblulu Complex ~s considered the center of all mayor acnv~nes for sports, concerts,
pageants, fags. etc ,and
WHEREAS, because the rivo half-Ume employees clean up after events and partially prepare for
upcoming events m the morning, detailed work such as cleaning windows, waxing Floors, pressure washme
bleachers and walkways, repa~nng ball fields, painting bwldmgs and tables, and tnmmmg hedges are neglected,
and
WHEREAS, m the long term, facilities detenorate without prevent[ve maintenance, and
WHEREAS, part-time employees tend to seek full nine employment, and
WHERE 4S, by increasing the nine element of Pos[tton No 3646, Fac[l[nes ~tamtenance and Serv[ce
Worker [ 12T, BC-03, to full nine, the add[nonal four (4) hours a day will enable this employee to complete
detailed maintenance work to preserve the fac~bt~es and to maintain cont[nurty m personnel, and
WHEREAS, funds are available m the Hoolulu Park Complex Regular Salanes and s't'ages account

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that Position No. 3646, Facilities Maintenance & Service Worker I 1/2T, BC-03, be changed to full time.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments of
Parks & Recreation, Finance and Civil Service.
