SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Bill No. 58 (Kaleiopapa Street)
Attached for your information are nine (9) copies of a more accurate map of the proposed no
parking zone at the end of Kaleiopapa Street in North Kona.
We met with Mr. Barney Espinda, district manager of the Hawaii Hazbors Division, at the site on
March 24, 1997. He concurs with the proposed no-parking zone because of the alignment and
the narrow width of the roadway and the need to provide for pedestrian safety. He also said that
they are planning to restripe the areas under their jurisdiction. These areas include the pier at the
end of Kaleiopapa Street and the parking areas neaz the boat ramp.
Additional parking azeas are also available on the shoulders along both sides of Kaleiopapa
Street near Ehukai Street.
