Dear Chairman Arakakt,
This letter is written to support the appointment of Christopher Yuen by Mayor Harry Kim as
County's Director for the Planning Department.
We have known Chris Yuen as a person and followed his many contributions to the community
planning and land use matters For seven years he served on the state land board which deals
with planning and land use, the very subject areas which fall within the jurisdiction of the
county's planning department responsibilities. Chris Yuen is very farniliar with state and county
long-range planning, including legislative review, general plan and code amendments
We strongly support Chris Yuen's appointment as the county's planning director. His
knowledge on land use matters is unique and we can think of no one else in this county with his
experience and the professional expertise in the planning process
We would be most happy to provide additional testimony on his behalf whenever needed in the
council's deliberation on Chris Yuen's appointment
