Re: Request to Establish "No Parking" Zone at Keauhou Bay
Dear Mr. Nishimura:
This will follow up on our telecon regarding the request by my client
Kamehameha Investment Corporation to the County of Hawaii to establish a "No
Parking" zone along both sides of the Beach Road at Keauhou Bay, which I believe is part
of the King Kamehameha III Road, as more particularly described (yellow) on Exhibit
"A" attached hereto.
As we discussed, the traffic and parking situation at that area of the Beach
Road has become both a safety and management problem. I understand that you are
already working with the State Deparhnent of Transportation -Harbors Division on
improvements to the street lighting and parking in that area.
In light of the existing traffic congestion and safety concerns, on behalf of
Kamehameha Investment Corporation, this will request that your department immediately
take steps to forward for the County Council's consideration, a bill establishing the "No
Parking" zone as delineated on the attached map. 1
