Your Committee on Parks and Environmental Management, to which was referred
Communication No 23, reports as follows•
Communication No. 23 is transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 6, 2000, nominating
Ms. Patncia Engelhazd as the County of Hawaii Director of Pazks and Recreation pursuant to the
Charter of the County of Hawaz`i
Ms. Engelhazd served as the Director of Pazks and Recreation for the County of Hawaii from
December, 1984 to December, 1988 Most recently she has been employed with the County Office
of Housing and Community Development.
Ms. Engelhard will serve a term co-terrninous with Mayor Kim's tenure, which will end on
December 6, 2004
Your Committee finds that Ms Engelhazd meets the minimum qualifications of expenence in an
administrative capacity, as set forth in Section 6-3 2, Hawaii County Chazter.
Your Committee on Parks and Environmental Management recommends the co»finnation of the
appointment of Ms Patncia Engelhazd as the County of Hawai`i's Director of Parks and
Recreation
