As Chairman of the Committee on Pazks and Environmental Management, I have been
receinng many calls from the public in regards to the Hilo Bayfront Soccer field. It
has been recently reported that the field could possibly be contaminated with
hazardous matenals.
I would sincerely appreciate a status report in regards to the testing that has taken
place, as well as a report on future renovations and repazr plans for this important
recreational facility. Please be prepazed to provide a presentation on the next
Committee on Parks and Environmental Management meeting which is scheduled on
January 9, 2001 at 1:00 p.m.

your presentation at the Committee on Perks and Environmental Management.
