SUBJECT: DRAFT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF ENGINEER TO ISSUE
PERMITS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PRIVATELY OWNED
RESIDENTIAL WATERLINES WITHIN COUNTY RIGHT-OF-WAYS
In compliance with Chapter 2, Section 2-119 of the Hawaii County Code, forwazded for your
consideration is a draft resolution authonzing the Chief Engineer to Issue permits for the installation of
privately owned residential waterlines within the County nght-of--way
Because public water service is not available to all residential properties, it Is sometrmes possible to
obtain service by installing a pnvate consumer waterline within a County road right-of--way from an
authorized water meter to a residence This resolution establishes a system that will allow the
Department to allow such this type of water line installation.
Your attention and favorable consideration of this resolution bill will be sincerely appreciated.
