RE: Confirmation of Lincoln S.T. Ashida
Corporation Counsel
Dsar Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
This is an unsolicited letter in support of the
confirmation of Lincoln S. T. Ashida as Corporation Counsel
of the County of Hawaii.
I first met Lincoln more than 25 years ago at his
family gatherings around Christmas. Lincoln impressed me
then as being a very polite, friendly young person.
During the summers of his law school career at Creighton
University, Lincoln was hired by me as a law clerk in the
Hawaii County prosecutor's office His work ethic and
legal abilities were impressive and I offered him a law
clerk's position upon his graduation and return from law
school, and a position as a deputy prosecuting attorney when
he passed the bar examination in 1987.
Over the years i have had the opportunity to see
Lincoln grow from an eager, young deputy to a matured,
intense, skilled trial attorney. He was given supervisory
duties with the office and excelled in them.

Lincoln's integrity, drive and legal skills will be a
valuable asset to the County of Hawaii. He is more than
ready to take on this heavy responsibility of being the
County's top legal adviser. I have no doubt that Lincoln
will be a honest, hardworking and capable administrator.

Mr. Lincoln Ashida as Corporation Counsel.
