HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0046.001 2000-2002 TESTIMONY TO HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON PARKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT January 9, 2001 by Makule Soccer League Concerning Status of the Hlb Bayfront Soccer Fields Aloha County Coundl Members: The board of directors of the Makule Coed Soccer League requests the use of one of the rear bayfront soccer fields in order to start our winter season on January 14th. Our request is to use the field mauka of the canal and closest to the recently constructed battrroom fadlily. By_. 9 0~ The goals are still in place, and the field is playable as soon as a couple D~~ roomy Council P-Prue of piles of debris are removed We will be happy to move those piles and take steps to make sure the playing surface is safe for our Sunday afternoon soccer games. Only registered members of our league will be allowed to play in those games. All members are required to sign an insurance waiver with which vre would be happy to supply you. All of our games are also professionally refereed and lined. Our league has been playing on this and other bayfront fields for ten years now, and until the last flood we have alvraya been able to weather the storm. But, obviously this last one has left us without a place to play. Thank you in advance for this consideration. Feel free to call us at any time for more information about our league or for coordination with the restoration of the bayfront soccer fields.
