RESOLUTION CREATING A CLERK II POSITION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the Federal Victims of Cnme Act Grant previously provided for a counselor in the
Kona's Victim Assistance Unit of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, and
WHEREAS, the victim counselors m Kona are assigned cases for Kona, North Kohala, Kau
and South Kohala misdemeanors and Hamakua Abuse of Family and Household cases, and
WHEREAS, increased workload was generated as a result of the counselor, and
WHEREAS, by creating a clerk position, will alleviate some of the Legal Clerks' workload by
taking on functions that ultimately benefit crime victims, and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1 3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has
the power to "Create positions for which appropriations have been made by the council
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that a Clerk II, SR-8 position be created
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds are available through the Federal Victims of Cnme
Act Grant
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the Departments
of Finance and Civil Service and to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney
