Re. Multi-year Lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Flre Department to enter into amulti-year
lease for two (2) years for office space in Na'alehu. This space will be occupied
by the Na'alehu EMS ambulance unit. Their current rental will no longer be
available in the future and is being sold

A. REQUEST:
Approve the attached resolution authorizing the payment of funds
of a later fiscal year and more than one fiscal year for a multi-
year lease of real property.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Fire Department currently operates its Naalehu EMS ambulance
unit from a house rented from Ka'u Agribusiness. The Department
was notified that this rental will no longer be available in the
future and is being sold. The Department has located another
rental in Naalehu in an accessible location. The prospective
lessor indicates that he requires at least a two-year lease
commitment from the County. Funds for this rental are available
in 010-221-5227.42 Basic EMT Training OCE and are reimbursable by
the State Department of Health.
