SUBJECT. Cost Items, Hawaii Fire Fighters Association
Bargaining Unit 11
In accordance with Section 89-11(d), HRS, attached for council action is a resolution
authorizing the appropriation in future fiscal years of funds to cover the cost items
awarded by the arbitration panel to resolve the impasse between the employers and the
Hawaii Fire Fighters Association (HFFA) for Bargaining Unit 11. The settlement covers
the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2003 Cost items presented for your
consideration are longevity and across-the-board increases; longevity catchup
payments; step movements; increases in meal, travel allowances, and proficiency pay,
and uniforms All costs are payable in the last two fiscal years of the proposed
agreement
Attached as exhibits to the resolution are schedules showing the total cost of these
various adjustments over the four years of the contract
