SUBJECT TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAPI`OLANI STREET Proposed passenger loading zone for Mauna Loa School
Mr Alan Lipps, Pnncipal of Mauna Loa School requests apassenger-loading zone be suthonzed along
the mauka side of Kapi'olani Street at the school entnmce A location map is attached.
A meeting was held with Mr Lipps to discuss his proposal and we agree that apassenger-loading zone
will improve overall safety for students and motonsts dunng the mommg and afternoon loadmg and
unloadmg actrvrties We also discussed the possible impacts of this loadmg zone on nearby residents and
businesses Since the loading zone will be effective in the mommg and afternoon on school days only,
we conclude any possible unpacts will be minimal.
We ask for your review and consideration for adopUOn of the subJect amendment Should you have any
