Your Committee on Finance, to which was refereed Commumcation No. 21, reports as follows•
Communication No. 21, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 6, 2000, appoints
Ms Dixie Kaetsu as County of Hawaii Managing Director
Ms. Kaetsu has been the Controller for the County since Mazch 1990 and has served as the
Director of Finance since July 1, 2000. As Managing Director, she will serve a term to end
December 6, 2004.
Pursuant to Article Vl, Section 6-1.2, Hawaii County Charter, "The managing director shall be
appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council and may be removed by the mayor The
managing director shall have had five years of experience in an administrative capacity, and shall
possess demonstrable education and/or professional expenence as required of the office."
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Ms. Dixie Kaetsu as County of
Hawaii Managing Duector.
