Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 22, reports as follows.
Communication No. 22, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 6, 2000, appoints
Mr William T Takaba as County of Hawaii Director of Finance.
Mr Takaba served as the Director of Finance for the County of Hawaii from December 1990 to
December 1992, and most recently has been the County's Executive on Aging for the Office of
Aging As Director of Finance, he will serve a term to end December 6, 2004.
Pursuant to Article V, Section 5-3 2, Hawaii County Charter, "The director of finance shall be
appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the council and may be removed by the mayor. The
finance director shall have had a minimum of five years of training and experience in budgeting
or related fields, at least three years of which shall have been in a responsible supervisory
capacity "
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. William T. Takaba as County
of Hawaii Director of Finance
