Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 1, reports as follows
Bill No 1. transmitted by Director of Finance Dixie Kaetsu, via Communication No. 3, dated
October 30, 2000, amends Ordinance No. 00-64, as amended, the Capital Budget ending
June 30, 2001, by adding the following project•
PUBLIC WORKS
Kiiakini Hwy (Palani-Hualalai) Impr -Federal 110-399-5396.12-115 $800,000
Funds for this protect shall be provided from federal grants receivable
Funds will be used to widen the existing two lane Kuakiru Highway to fow lanes, construction of
concrete sidewalks, drainage improvements and traffic signal improvements.
Some members of Your Committee expressed concerns that widening the highway to fow lanes
between Hualalai Road and Palani Road would bwden businesses and residents in the azea.
For informational purposes, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No 1 and
recommends it pass first reading.
