Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 10-01, reports as follows
Resolution No 10-01, transmitted by Acting Director of Finance William Takaba, via
Communication No 25, dated December 7, 2000, authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into
an agreement with the United States of America for a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant.
The United States of Amenca through the Departrnent of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, has
authonzed funding for equipment, technological and information systems improvements to
enhance operation and communication with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and other
agencies
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, county departments must obtaiD the consent
of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to
be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furmsh, expend and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 10-O1
and recommends its adoption
