Your Committee on Finance, to which was refetted Resolution No. 13-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 13-01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No 42, dated December 13, 2000, amends Ordinance No 00-65, the Salary Ordinance, by adding
Section 7 09 Department of Environmental Management, deleting Section 7.07 Office of the
Safety Coordinator, renaming Section 7.02 Office of the Mayor to Office of Management, and
retitling the Chief Engineer class of work to Director of Public Works.
The aforementioned amendments to the Salary Ordinance reflects changes made to the Hawaii
County Charter which was ratified by a majority of Big Island voters on November 7, 2000.
Pursuant to Section 11-156, Hawaz`i Revised Statutes, the County Clerk has certified that the
proposed amendments were approved by a majority of the voters voting upon said amendments.
Pursuant to Article 3, Section 3-13, Hawaii County Charter, interim amendments to the
Ordinance establishing the pay plan for the County may be by resolution of the Council provided
a revised Salary Ordinance is enacted at least once annually
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purposes and intent of Resolution No 13-O1
and recommends its adoption.
