Re Operating Budget
Enclosed (s a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an
additional $200,000 for the Federal Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant
(JAIBG) These additional funds, made available from the Office of Youth Services, will
be used to supplement the existing county budget.
These funds must be expended by March 31, 2001.
Due to the urgency of this matter, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney would like this
ordinance to go directly to the Council meeting scheduled on February 5, 2001

RE• Bill No. 27 An ordinance amending the Operating Budget by
appropnating an additional 5200,000 for the Federal Juvenile Accountability
Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG).
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Ftnance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, m the event this request ~s
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda
