RESOLUTION NO. 30 Oi
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF THREE (3)
PARK BENCHES FOR THE KEIKILAND PLAYGROUND FROM 5 FAMILIES
WHEREAS, the following families have donated and installed park benches, with an estimated
value of S1,400 00, at the Keikdand Playground
1 park bench Mr & Mrs Kelly Moran 1979 Kalaniana'ole Avenue
(estimated value of $400 00) Hilo, Hawaii 96720
1 park bench Dr & Mrs Edwin Montell 609 Ko'iawe Street
(estimated value of $400 00) Hilo, Hawaii 96720
1 park bench a Mr & Mrs Walter Lucas 317-B Aipuni Street
(estimated value of $600 00) and Cindy Lucas Hilo, Hawaii 96720
b Mr 8 Mrs Joseph Sampaia 317-A Aipuni Street
Hilo, Hawaii 96720
c Mr & Mrs Willie-Joe Camara 361 Aipuni Street
Hilo, HI 96720
and
WHEREAS, Walter Lucas coordinated the installation of the benches, and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks & Recreation recommends the acceptance of the
donation
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts the park benches from the aforementioned families.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the aforementioned
families, acknowledging their generous donation.
