We will not be able to attend the meeting on the 23'~ However, we have been before you
many times and the message is the same .Give West Hawaii the animal coritrol sernce it
needs and deserves Give the wntract for animal control m West Hawaii back to West
Hawaii Humane Society who has proven that they can do the job It's time we get
someone in there that understands what the job is all about and has the expenence and
credentrals needed to do it nght
This audit was not a review of Hawaii Island Humane Society A good hard look needs
to be taken of their shelter management, expenditures and staff Why wasn't such a
report done that would have told the whole story? For over 5600,000.00 of our taxes I
think we deserve better service
If an outside agency is to review Hawaii Island Humane Society rt should be the Nattonal
Ammal Control Association Ttus is an animal wntrol contract and that is the agency that
trams the officers
We realize that the Firlaiice Committee has no suthonty over the contract, however, you
need to know the whole story and this audit certatnly doesn't do it
