At the January 9~' Finance Committee Meeting, during which we applied for an increase in
time element for a Hoolulu Complex Facilities Maintenance Worker, you asked for
information about the number of employees at Kailua Park, inGuding KCAC I am providing
the requested information hoping it will not be used to compare the two parks because they
serve different functions in their communities
The Kailua Park has the following employees assigned to it
1 Recreation Director IV (who supervises work at the three park clusters in North and
South Kona)
1 Recreation Director II
1 Recreation Technician II - 3/4 time
2 Recreation Technician II - 2/5 time
1 Sr Lifeguard
2 Lifeguards - '
1 Lifeguard 315 time
1 Lifeguard - 1/2 time
2 Lifeguard -1/2 time (temp) J
2 Swim Instructor- 1/2 time temp
3 Pool Custodian - 1/2 time
1 Park Caretaker
1 Tractor Mower Operator
1 Park Caretaker 1/2 time
Other Kona Parks Maintenance employees such as the tree trimmer and the equipment
repairer are assigned there as needed
