COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI'1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. '48 O1 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A VARIETY OF <br /> DART FROGS AND MATERIALS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CHILDREN'S ZOO <br /> WHEREAS, "Friends of the Pana'ewa Zoo" has donated a variety of Dart Frogs and materials for <br /> construction of a new Children's Zoo for the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Dart Frogs, with an estimated value of SIX HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS <br /> ($690.00) will be used for educational and display purposes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the materials, with an estimated value of FIF'T'EEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00) <br /> will be used for construction of the new Children's Zoo; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Pazks and Recreation recommends acceptance of this generous <br /> donation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawaii accepts the Dart Frogs and materials. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Friends of the Pana'ewa Zoo, <br /> P.O.
