Re: Capital Budget
Attached is a bill to amend the capital budget by increasing the appropriation for
East/V1/est Hawaii Office Renovations, Phase II, from $6 million to $7 million. This
additional appropriation is necessary to cover the additional cost of the design and
construction of One Pauahi Place due to the design changes proposed by Mayor Kim
At the present time, the Department of Public Works is developing more accurate
figures on the cost of the proposed changes. As soon as these numbers are available,
we will present them to you. We expect to have them before the Finance Committee
considers this bill
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Changes to the design and scope of work of One Pauahi Place are
increasing the overall cost of the project. While final costs
are not it, it is estimated that $1 million more, along with
amounts previously appropriated, will be sufficient to finish the
project and also take care of the commitment to the Judiciary.
Please increase the appropriation in 5191.24, East/West Hawaii
Office Renovations, Phase II, from the existing $6 million to
$7 million.
