Your Committee on Human Services and Economic Development, to which was referred
Resolution No. 27-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 27-01, transmitted by Council Chair James Y. Arakaki via Communication
No. 73, dated January 19, 2001,proposed the.adoption of a resolution recognizing March as
National Women's History Month. .
At the suggestion of Councilman J. Curtis Tyler, III, a friendly amendment to Resolution
No. 27-01 was adopted to read as follows(new material is underscored; excised material is
bracketed):
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it recognizes March as National Women's History
Month and acknowledges the courage and countless contributions of women
who made history throughout the United States and especially on the island of
Hawai`i. [during the celebration of Women's History Month]
Your Committee on Human Services and Economic Development is in accord with
the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 27-01, as amended to'Resolution No. 27-01,
Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
