2. As my initial memo of 10127/00 indicatrd the matter of "irngttln permits" fame m
date back m October 1998. Since that time, there have been numerous commuaipltione
on the matter, but, m date, I am unawero of any resolution m significant issues mind by
the garaeral public and the department itself. For this ttsuon, and in light of the October
26, 2000 sorry in the West Tiewaii Today, it v my expectation that, by agendizing my
request, Your committee will receive some infumation from the partim involved as m
the face and some direction ere m how and when this matter will be resolved
