Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Resolution No. 18-01, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 18-01,transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 51, dated December 19, 2000, authorizes the grant of easement for retaining wall purposes at
Kaloko, District of North Kona, Island, County and State of Hawai`i, Tax Map Key No. (3)7-3-
051: Portion of Kanalani Street to Pacific Jetstream, LLC.
The County of Hawai`i is the owner of that certain roadway parcel located in the Kaloko Light
Industrial Subdivision Unit 1, at Kaloko,North Kona, Island, County and State of Hawai`i,
known as Kanalani Street.
The retaining wall owned by Pacific Jetstream, LLC along the east boundary of Kanalani Street
encroaches into the public right-of-way. Pacific Jetstream, LLC needs the grant of easement to
maintain its retaining wall along the east boundary of Kanalani Street within the public right-of-
way. An independent appraiser determined that the fair market value of the retaining wall
easement is $437.00 with an area of 46 square feet.
Pursuant to Section 2-111, Hawai`i County Code,the council may, by resolution, as approved by a
majority of its members, dispose of real property.
Your Committee, during its discussion of Resolution No. 18-01,made the following amendment:
Changing the resolved clause to read"...Exhibit"A" attached hereto, [until] subject to
reversion upon termination...."
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purposes and intent of Resolution No. 18-01,
as amended to Draft 2, and recommends its adoption.
