REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: February 6, 2001 Re: Comm.No. 57/Res.No. 23-01 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> TIME: 10:30 A.M. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 23-01, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 23.01, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 57, dated <br /> January 10, 2001, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a <br /> multi-year lease of Real Property. <br /> The Fire Department EMS unit wishes to enter into a two-year lease contract for a house and lot at 95-113 Niu <br /> Street,Na'alehu Hawaii. Their current rental will no longer be available and is being sold. Funds will be <br /> budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated cost. <br /> Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of <br /> funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by resolution. <br /> Originally heard on January 23, 2001, this measure was deferred, at the Fire Departments request, in order to <br /> find a new location at the request of the community. <br /> Your Committee, during its discussion of Resolution No. 23-01, approved the following amendments: <br /> 1) Amending the 2nd Whereas clause as follows: "... house and lot at [95-113 Niu Street] 95-5649 <br /> Mamalahoa Highway,Na'alehu, Hawai`i..." <br /> 2) Amending the 3rd Whereas clause as follows: "... the cost of[$650.00] $1,041.67 a month; and." <br /> 3) Amending the 4th Whereas clause as follows: "... lease with [Mr. Steve Johnston] Mr. John <br /> Katchmar, owner for two (2) years starting March 1, 2001, and ending on [February 28, 2003] <br /> March 1, 2003.. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 23-01, as amended to <br /> Draft 2, and recommends its adoption. <br /> smc <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX <br /> Respectfully submitted <br /> CHUNG X <br /> PISICCHIO X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> ARAKAKI X <br /> ELARIONOFF X <br /> JACOBSON X 0.775N) . <br /> LEITHEAD-TODD X <br /> SAFARIK X AARON S.Y.
