Re• Resolution Changing Fund[ng Source
With the fund[ng of the Community Policing grant ending on March 15, 2001, five (5)
pol[ce officer posit[ons are in jeopardy of be[ng terminated. Enclosed is a resolut[on to
cont[nue the funding of these police officer pos[t)ons w[th County funds
Because the grant fund[ng will be ending soon, the Police Department would like to
request a waiver from the F[nance committee and have this resolution heard at the
Council meeting scheduled for March 9, 2001

RE Resolution No. 59-01 Changing the funding source of five positions under
the community policing program
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this wntten request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
thts matter, timely approval is crucial it is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
dented, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Corrtmtttee on
Finance for placement on its futwe agenda
