RESOLUTION NO. 55 01
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF CAMERAS TO THE HAWAII COUNTY
POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bill True of Kailas-Kona, Hawaii, have graciously donated one hundred and five (105)
Polaroid Express cameras to be used by the Hawaii County Police Department to assist with investigations relating to
domestic violence; and
WHEREAS, at the request of the donors, the cameras will be distributed to the Community Police and Patrol officers
of the South Kohala, North Kohala, Kona, and Ka'u districts of the Big Island; and
WHEREAS, the cameras have a total estimated value of $1,604.00; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County,
may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE County OF HAWAII that in accordance
with Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Hawaii County Council accepts the cameres to be used by the
Police Department to assist with investigation relating to domestic violence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. and Mrs. Bill True of 1212 39'" Avenue
East, Seattle, Washington 98112, aclrnowledging this generous donation.
