COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5'7 01 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, OFFICE OF <br /> <br /> YOUTH SERVICES, STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR <br /> ENFORCING UNDERAGE DRINKING LAWS <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services, Office of Youth Services, State of Hawaii has <br /> authorized funding for enforcing underage dunking laws and the hiring of a coordinator for programs <br /> <br /> for the County of Hawaii, which shall be under the supervision of the Department of Liquor Control, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the funds provided by the Department of Human Services, Office of Youth <br /> Services, are derived from grants provided by the federal government, and <br /> WHEREAS, the duration of the grant is for two (2) years, effective Apnl 1, 2001 to March 30, <br /> <br /> 2003, pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, the Department of Liquor Control requests <br /> approval for amulti-year contract, and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain <br /> the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting <br /> action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any <br /> funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers <br /> <br />
