Re: Multl-year Lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to
enter into amulti-year lease for five (5) years for the office space they currently
occupy in Kealakekua. Their lease expires on June 30, 2001. This location is
well established with the public and is in close proximity w)th the courts. The cost
to relocate would be prohibitive

A. REQUEST:
Multi-year lease for Kona Office space.
B: BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION:
The five year lease for the Kona office is expiring
6/30/01. We are nogotiating another five year lease for the
6,432 square feet of office space we now occupy for the period
7/01/01 through 6/30/06. We have not sought other space because
the offer we received from the current landlord is competitive
and the cost of moving would be prohibitive. (Please see
attached offer from the managing agent.)
We have recently spent County and Federal funds to
upgrade the Wang system and install network and video
conferencing capabilities.
The location is well established with the public
The location in proximity to the court cuts down on
travel time and allows the employees to be more productive.

Ophon rate would be at mazket rate but not less than $1 15 per square foot.
