AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983
(1995 EDITION), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I•
SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 10, drv~sion 2, section 24-266, schedule 14 (Through
streets), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawai`~ County Code 1983 (1995 edition), as amended, ~s
amended to read as follows
(g) Puna
(1) `.Amaloa Boulevazd, except at Route 130.
(2) Alaula Street, Puolam Street to Ah`i Kane Street.
(3) Ah`i Anela Street, [Volcano Road] Route 11 to Alaula Street.
(4) Al~`i Koa Street, [Volcano Road] Route 11 to Alaula Street
(5) Ali`i Kane Street, except at Volcano Road
(6) Haunam Street, at the Volcano
(7) Kahakaz Boulevazd, except at the "stop" controls at the makaz approach at
Punawai Street and at the Kea`au-Pahoa Road.
(8) The highway known as the Kea`au to Kapoho Road, from rts intersection
with the Hawa~`~ Belt Road m Kea`au to Kapoho
(9) La`au Loke Street, from the Kalapaz~a-Kapoho Road to Mauka Nw Street
(10) Mamalahoa Highway, from the 4-mile bndge by way of Puna, to the
Honoli`i Gulch, except where rt intersects the following.
(A) The Hawaii Belt Road
(B) Honohma Village Cutoff Road.
(C) Honokohau Cutoff Road.
(D) Honomu Village Cutoff Road
(E) Kahuku Camp Cutoff Road
(F) KanoelehuaCutoffRoad.
(G) The Kea`au-Pahoa Road
(H) Mamane Street in Honoka`a
(11) Moana Kaz Pah Street, from the ICalapana-Kapoho Road to its
southwestern terminus
(12) Puolan~ Street, except at Anuhea Street
(13) Ole` Ole Street, from the Kalapana-Kapoho Road to Mauka Nui Street.
(14) Route 137, Route 130 to Route 132, except at Pohoiki Road and at the
Isaac Hale Beach Park driveway
(15) The highway known as the Saddle Road, from the Country Club Drive m
Hilo, to the Mamalahoa Highway at Kamuela in South Kohala.
(16) Wright Road (FASP 5-253 (1)).
SECTION 2. Material to be repealed is bracketed. New material ~s underscored. In
printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material and underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 3. If any provision of thus ordinance, or the application thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications
of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end, the provisions of thus ordinance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 4 This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval
