My rnno-year-oki Golden Retr+aver began having problems waNcing about a week ago I
had her seen by a veterinarian who makes Mouse calla, because I•recer+tly had surgery
and was unable to IMt her. The med+cation he prescnbed did not help, and he told me
that nine years was okl for a doh of her breed
Yesterday 1 called lire Humane Soaety end asked d they could pick her up and put her
to sleep as she was suffering They sa+d yes, tokt me the fees, asked if the fees were a
problem (not for me), and esid they could not g+ve 8 time when she could be p+dced up 1
said I'd take aft from work the next day (today) at 12.00 p.m. and would be home by
12 45 p m at the latest. The woman I spoke to took my name and direct+ons to my
house +n Paradroe Park, and suggested I cad before l left work
I calked the Humane Society today at 11 30 a m I spoke to another woman, who did not
seem to have any information about this whatsoever, and who said there was onty one
officer worlvng, and she was in Volceino She also said the officer would need help in
I+fting the dog, and there was no way of telling if the officer would be able to pick up my
dog today
When I got Aome today, I calked my neighbor across the street to ask her help d the
officer ever showed up Her husband was home for lunch, and he offered to drop off the
dog at the Humane Society on his way into Hllo
I again ceded the Humane Society, g+v+ng my name for a third time, and explained that
my neighbor would be bringing m my dog
Ten m+nutes after my neighbor left, the Humane Society called me. This t+me +t was a
man He wanted to confirm that I wee releas+ng my dog to the Humane Soc+aty I said,
not exactly, she's suffering and I want you to put her to steep He asked the dog's name,
age, breed, and my neighbors name I gave him ad thw Infonnabon, and pointed out that
my neighbor had ~ check for $25 00, the coat of having an an+mal put to sleep by the
Humane Society, and that I'd ceded three times about the matter
His explanation was good disgruntled ne+ghbors have been known to bnng in dogs that
do not belong to them

I just hope to God the people responsibb for actually putting my poor dog to sleep did rt

What do peopb who do not have ti25 00 for pet euthanasia do? Shoot their arnmals7
Abandon them abng a highway? And rf they are not able to transport the anirrral and
don't have the S15 00 pick up fee, do they wad until the animal is dead and drag it down
the road, leaving it in an empty lot?
Please do a realy thorough lob of evaluating the operators of this outfd 1 don't think
you'll be happy with what you find
