As a former roaidmc of the Puna Area, I have personalty seen the enormous
growth that the Puna Area here sustained. Never in my wr7deet droams a>.t I would have
seen the Puna era grow to a point where a t?ew bypw rod was nooeveay beause of ale
traffic congestion am the Keuu/Palaa Rod. A new high school and aleme~ry pmpus
wd needed because of the overloaded enrollment at my former almamater Kew
Elementary and Imermodiate School.
We have in floe reality Chet the population in Pum will only increase, which will
mate the Keaw Town the next city. With population increeang aubataaaally,this
neceasrtvbee providing service to the raidenoe of the Punt area so they don't have to
travel all the wry in 1o Hilo to do their ahoppeng. This we believe, the proposed tiatevvay
cep wiu provide for are people of the Puna Ara.. we believe now is are time to wart
providing these necaeuy eervicee and the oateway Center wiu provide nee needs.
