share your concerns about this project You bring up some good points for discussion I am
forwarding your letter to Chris Yuen, the Planning Director, for his consideration
The bill covering this rezoning is up for first reading by the County Council on Thursday,
February 22, so I am also forwarding your letter to the Council
I appreciate your taking the time to write to me about this matter, and your support as we
work to make Hawaii County a better place to live and work

highway, I believe it would be more appropriate to support that oeoter and the xetor of the
village ofl{euu itself by eaoottregiog Shipman to watge, tnodetmu and wpport that area. This
woukl also wpport the many elderly people living in Keatu who wtil tact ao easily be able to walk
across rather dargcrous roads to Cho now proposed center.

would certainly bring more jobs to this era, one added benefit, yet those jobs wnuld repravut a
wider range of economic lavela and professional poeeibilities for citizens, rather then large
trumbers of yet more entry level service positions the shopping txrtter would provide
Therefore, whilo this propowl nerves Shipman, it does trot salve the needs of the people, of good
rural plarmirtg, or of eoommie of aesthetic aritaia. i ask that you do mt approve this proposal.
