Dear Chairman and Members:
Attached hereto is our joint proposal for an amendment to
the ordinance relating to attorney salaries.
We feel that this proposal provides the respective
department heads with the flexibility to reward meritorious
performances, without having to increase salaries across the
board. In addition, it eliminates differentiation between
deputies, based on department, and places them all on equal
footing. We hope that this will eliminate the ever present
danger of unhealthy professional jealously between departments.
