COUi~1TY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTIOIr NO. 65 Oi <br /> RESOLUTION CREATING A PERSONNEL PROGRAM SPECIALIST POSITION <br /> FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICE <br /> WHEREAS, the County's Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Program <br /> <br /> (EEO/AA) and the County's efforts for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) <br /> <br /> have been assigned to the Department of Civil Service, and <br /> WHEREAS, by creating this Personnel Program Speaalist position, the Department of Civil <br /> Service will plan and develop policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, <br /> State, and County laws and rules such as Title VII, Hawaii Fair Employment Practices Act, ADA, etc , <br /> <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the new Personnel Program Specialist position will serve as the principal advisor <br /> <br /> and technical resource for the County departments and agencies on all matters pertaining to EEO/AA <br /> <br /> and ADA, including the proper handling of all complaints and charges, and <br /> WHEREAS, this position will serve as the County's EEO/AA administrator and the County's <br /> lead personnel on ADA matters, and <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1 3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor has <br /> <br /> the power to "Create positions for which appropriations have been made by the counal " <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that a Personnel Program Specialist, EM-03 position be created <br /> <br />
