Re Traffic Division Services for Hawaiian Home Lands Subdivisions
Please proceed to turn on the street lights in Hawaiian Homes subdivisions to provide the
same basis of service that is provided to non-Hawaiian Homes areas. In addition, please
proceed to honor requests for pavement markings (including crosswalks at irnersections), for
no-parking signs and markings at intersections, and for guide, destination and warning signs
on the same basis. I have discussed this with Ray Soon, Chairman of the Hawaiian Homes
Commission, and he agrees with and supports this action. We will be working with the
Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to resolve the issue of payment of electricity and other
operating charges
Additionally, please idernlfy for me other services that we should address with Hawaiian
Homes as Mr Soon and members of his staff will be meeting with this administration to begin
addressing these and other issues
Please call me if you have any questions
