March 28, 2001 <br /> SLBJECT• Budget Message FY 2001-2001 <br /> Thank you for this opportumty to present the budget of the Ctvtl Defense Agency <br /> The Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency's budget for the fiscal yeaz 2001-2002 is for the <br /> amount of $490, ] 38 It is protected that the federal reimbursement will be approximately <br /> $114,000 The reimbursement rs made on a quarterly basis and is funneled to the country's <br /> general fund <br /> The Ctvtl Defense staff is compnsed of six (6) positions They are Assistant Admtmstrator, <br /> Bruce Butts, Plans and Operations Officer, Patncta Arthur, Staff Specialist, Lanny Nakano, <br /> Secretary, Mei Jayne Htrayama, Account Clerk, Dazlene Arthur, and the Administrator's <br /> position <br /> The responsibilities of the Hawazt County Ctvtl Defense Agency aze identified in The State of <br /> Hawan Plan for Emergency Prepazedness and the County of Hawaii Emer¢ency~perations Plan <br /> Besides the maJor obJectives of trying to ensure the preparedness of government to respond to <br /> natural or man-caused disasters that occur anywhere on the Island of Hawazi, the Hawatt County <br /> Civil Defense Agency will continue to expand the development of emergency response <br /> coordination and development with the pnvate and government sectors The concentration will <br /> be with the community associations, the resorts, and the non-profit organizations <br /> Thank you for this opportumty to present the Ctvtl Defense budget We will try to respond to any <br /> questions the Council may have or provide any additional information that maybe needed at this <br /> time or at a later date. <br /> Enclosure -Program ObJectives Update 2000-2001 <br /> Comm.
