Please be advised that the undersigned represents Reverend Danette Vanessa Chot,
the owner of Tax Map Key Paroel Number 1-8-07.74.
Pursuant to the Special Permit No 919 issued by the County of Hawaii Planning
Commission dated January 25, 1996, our client was to pave and improve Mauna Kea Road The
paving and improvement of that road have been completed In fact, all conditions of Special Permit
No 919 have been satisfied Attached is a copy of the November 30, 2000 letter from the Planning
Department acknowledging same The Mauna Kea Road Maintenance Association has been
incorporated to maintain the road with an annual budget of $3,000 for a road maintenance fund
Certainly our client intends to continue to contnbute to the Association $3,000 annually for the road
maintenance, however, as the roadway is a governmental road the obligation to maintain the road
may belong to the County
As our client has already paved and improved the subject road pursuant to the
Planning Commission specifications, it is requested that the County assume the responsibility to
maintain the road and that the road be dedicated to the County if the road is dedicated to the
County, there should be no need for the Mauna Kea Road Maintenance Association and the
Association may then be dissolved
