A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAVI TO ENTER INTO A
MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A STAMP MACHINE FOR THE OFFICE OF THE
CORPORATION COUNSEL FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 THROUGH FISCAL
YEAR 2005-2006
WHEREAS, Section 10-1 1 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution, and
WHEREAS. the County %+ishes to enter into a multi-year lease for fi%e (5) years for a
stamp machine for the Office of the Corporation Counsel located at 101 Aupum Street,
Suite 325. Hilo. Hawaii, and
WHEREAS, due to the volume of mail handled within the Office of the Corporation
Counsel and the distance from the County mail room, a stamp machine is a necessity and
WHEREAS, due to the frequent breakdokA ns caused by the present aging equipment, the
staff has lost man-hours due to machine malfunctions, as well as frequent inconveniences and
increasing maintenance costs, and
WHEREAS. the acquisition of this machine will reduce downtime and reduce costs,
thereby improving productivity and efficiency of the office.
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Countv of Hawari
hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter Into a five (5) year lease agreement for the acquisition of a
stamp machine for the Office of the Corporation Counsel
