Re: Testimony on Hawaii County budget
I'm Sherry Bracken, President of Kona Outdoor Circle. I'm speaking today on
behalf of Na Leo Pohai, the public policy arm of Kona Outdoor Circle.
1. Kona Outdoor Circle is in favor of adding five police officers to Kona. Kona
Outdoor Circle's mission is to keep Kona clean, green, and beautiful, and we
feel that additional police patrols to help the ever-growing Kona side is
imperative to helping reduce graffiti and vandalism and other things which
impact our environment.
2. We urge the Council to always consider landscaping and pedestrian and
bikeways as you allocate funds for roadways. It is imperative to improve our
infrastructure, but to do it in a way that helps improve the appearance of our
island and and maintain its natural beauty.
Thank you for heari~n,,g~o'ur~testimony.
