Re: Attached resolution recognizing Whale Summit Day during the month of
May
Attached is a resolution which I am requesting be waived from consideration in the
Human Services and Economic Development Committee and moved on to the council
meeting scheduled for May 2, 200 L I am requesting this waiver because of the time
limitations we are working under. This resolution is a result of a request by some Puna
constituents. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 961-8267.

RE: Attached Resolution Recognizing May As Whale Summit Month in Hawaii County
Pursuant to Section 1(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawai i,
this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be waived from
the Committee on Human Services and Economic Development to the full Council for immediate
action. Timely approval is crucial in reviewing this matter. It is therefore advantageous that approval
is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this
request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Human Services and Economic Development for placement on its future agenda.
