Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate David R. Powell to the Hawaii Tax Board of
Review. Mr. Powell was appointed to this board fo serve out the term of Bill F.
Bger, who resigned on May 8, 2000. This tens expired on December 31, 2000.
Mr. Powell is a 43-year resident of Hawaii and has been retired since 1998.
Mr. Powel! has served as Chief ®perating Officer of Case and Lynch and as a
partner of ®eloitte and Touche. His community activities include the Consuelo
sober Alger Foundation, the Catholic Charities Family Services and the Alliance
for Children end Families. Mr. Powell states that he is not affiliated with any
political party and will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2005.
