POWELL TO THE TAX BOARD OF REVIEW From Mayor Harry Kim, dated April 19, 2001, submitting the following name for contirmation to serve on the Tax Board of Review: Mr. David R. Powell, a 43-year resident of Hawaii, who has been retired since 1998. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Case and Lynch and as a partner of Deloitte and Touche. He is not aftiliated with any political party. Mr. Powell will be replacing Bill F. Eger, who resigned on May 8, 2000 and, if confirmed, will serve out the term to expire on December 31, 2005. Ben, SPHR, dated April 12, 2001, transmitting the above referenced report of reallocation actions taken on the positions covered by civil service classification and pay laws for the third quarter (January 1, 2001 to March 31, 2001) of the 2000-2001 fiscal year. EARL BAKKEN From Fire Chief Edward Bumatay, dated April 16, 2001, transmitting the above resolution. The donation is valued at approximately $28,000. Comm. 188: REQUEST FROM TRIMARK PACIFIC HOMES, L.P. FOR WAIVER OF LA"TE FILING PENALTY ON REAL PROPERTY TAXES ON TAX MAP KEY 3-6-002-O18-000 PURCHASED BY KOHALA-WOODVALE ASSOCIATES LLC From John D. Landau, Chief Operating Officer, Trimark Pacific Homes, LP, dated April 12, 2001, formally requesting a waiver for late filing penalty which was paid with the second installment 2000-2001 real property taxes for the above parcel. States Kohala-Woodvale Associates, LLC purchased the parcel in February 2000. Apparently a change of ownership was not recorded at the time the 2000-2001 real property tax bill was mailed by the tax collector's FC-1 1 Page 3 May 1.2001 office and the tax bill was mailed to Woodvale, LLC in Kailua-Kona and was not forwarded to Kohala-Woodvale Associates, LLC. Fax copies of the property tax bill reached them late; therefore, their payment was mailed after the February 20`" deadline. They paid $49,479.10, which included a 10 percent late penalty of $4,498.10 and are requesting that the penalty be waived.
