RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR
AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A COPY
MACHINE.
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more
than one fiscal year to be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into afive-year lease contract to acquire a copy
machine for the Elections Division to be located in the Elections Division Office; and
WHEREAS, the existing copy machine has been subjected to very heavy use in the last
six years; and
WHEREAS, the quality of the reproduction is substandard and cost for parts and supplies
has increased, and the machine continues to require frequent maintenance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into afive-year lease for the acquisition of a
copy machine to be utilized in the Elections Division; and
2. T',•~at sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligation of the County under the lease agreement.

BE [T FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmits copies of
this resolution to the Department of Finance and the County Clerk's Office.
