RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING T~°IE OFFICE OF THE IVIAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
AC~REEIIIIENT ~6V1TH THE OFFICE OF HA10VAlIAN AFFAIRS, PURSUANT TO HRS
46-7, FOR A KAVNANANAKOA HALL REPLACEI6IIENT PROJECT GRANT
WHEREAS, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs has authorized funding towards the County of
Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation's Kawananakoa Hall Replacement Project; and
WFIEREAS, the Keaukaha Gymnasium complex is being constructed to replace Kawananakoa
Hall; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obtain
the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting
action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any
funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED EY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement for a Grant Contract with the
Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to sign the
above-referenced agreement and any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the
County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
~E I`~ FURI`HER ICES®L10ED that the County Clerk of the County of a-lawai'i shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and the
Departments of Parks and Recreation and Finance.
