ite: Lihiwai Street Road Closure
I am writing to you in ®®~siti®n to a complete road closure of Lihiwai Street
for the following reasons:
- - ::c::uicapped accessibility on the ocean-sde c` ~ r:..::: ~~ould be
greatly hammered.
• For years I have enjoyed driving guests as well as personally enjoying
the fantastic view from that section of Lihiwai Street best in Hilo).
• The County has expended a lot of monies on improvements to the
road and restriping of the parking stalls.
I am aware that some walkers are in favor of permanently closing the road,
however in viewing the renovations and improvements, there is ample space for
them to walk on the beautiful new sidewalks.
Hopefully a compromise solution can be reaehed so that the best view of Hilo
Bay and Mauna Kea will not be restricted, so al! tae®®le may enjoy it.
